I don't know what we will name this trail. It is certainly not the John Wayne Wilderness Trail and it is not the Pacific Crest Trail, heck, it is not even the Greenway, but we have our own nature trail right in our back yard and these are just some of the scenes that you can see hiking the trail. The good news is that you do not need to take a backpack nor even lunch.. The whole walk takes about a minute and a half but it is an improvement over the barren hillside we have had for the last 17 years.
I have been working on these steps for a good part of the spring now. I think they are finally finished and the results are pretty much like I hoped they would be. Jillian and Vance helped me try them out for the first time. Thanks to Glen and Jean Tanner for the help in loading up the wheelbarrows for me while I wheeled the rock to the stairs and got everything leveled out.
I attended the Northwest Food Processors Association show at the Portland Convention Center in January. I took part in the Sample Display Competition and finished second place overall. In addition to the certificate you see attached here I also was awarded a cash prize of $100. My name was also announced along with the other winners at the Tuesday morning breakfast attended by many of the convention attendees.
